1928 “Fordillac” 2-door Hi-boy Sedan

The owner builder Chuck Saunders has created the ultimate white chopped street rod dressed out with red powder coated Vintique spokes on ‘big and littles.’ The top has a serious 6” chop by Scotty’s Hot Rods, Loveland, CO in February 2007. Underneath he has secured everything atop a pro-built fully boxed new '32 frame & deuce gas tank. You’ve got to love how the rear end of this car looks going down the road, or looking in your rear view mirror and see that deuce hand built tube grill-wow. Oh yeah and just the right amount of delicate pin stripping. And, check out that “rake” or how do they call it in these modern times, ‘the stance’!

Build book: Yes Chuck has every single receipt and documentation on the purchase of every piece on this car. Without Chuck's endless labor he has $35,000 in receipts. Come see for yourself, we've posted the book in our photo gallery.

For engine and drive train motivation and unlimited torque he’s nestled a 472 c.i. Cadillac (1971) beefed up with .030 over, a serious CompCam (Kit #94-304-5, grind # CAD 268H-10), Sanderson High Temp ceramic coated block hugger headers finished off with 2” pipes out the back, Edlebrock intake manifold and carburetor and finished off with an Accel electronic distributor (Series 71000 magnetic). Engine professionally built by Bowers Performance Racing Engines, Ft. Collins, CO. The cooling is cared for by Walker Z Series radiator and high cfm cooling fan front mounted.

Attached to this torque beast is a Cadillac TH400 built by Hector’s Race Transmissions, Loveland, CO. (For you Chevy or GM gear-heads you know it has lower 1st gear than Chevy, Pontiac & Oldsmobile TH400's.) Tying everything to the pavement is a classic best choice of a 9" Ford rear with 3.07 gears on Pete & Jake coil-overs. (Rear end is not posi.) The front end is neatly finished off with a 4” dropped I-beam axle saddled with '40 Ford brakes and Buick finned aluminum drums controlled by a dual master cylinder.

The interior is clean and simple with black vinyl with red piping - chrome side window garnish moldings, power door locks and power windows. And did you notice the front window still cranks out-nice touch. The interior is outstandingly finished with a 1940 Ford dash and polished gauge panel filled with VDO Cockpit Royale series gauges. Wiring installations is EZ “21 Series” kit. Tilt GM column and Gennie shifter sitting atop the Caddy automatic. The interior is fully insulated under carpet and firewall. Vinyl installation was neatly done in a period style by Auto Art of Loveland, CO

Exterior: Paint is a GM color #926A – white base coat/clear coat. Rear tires BF Goodrich P225/70R15 and the front are Michelin 135SR15. Headlights are a 10” Ford Two-light reproduction with Halogen bulbs.

Registration: With less than 2000 miles on the odometer this car is ready to drive home with a clear Colorado title. This is a daily garaged car. located in Loveland, CO.

For sale by owner: $29,990. Note in pictures complete BUILD BOOK with ALL receipts. Trade? Would consider partial trade for a ‘49 – ‘55 convertible or hardtop project car on a rolling chassis.
