1949 Chevrolet Fleetline – Immaculate Custom Hot Rod!


This is one meticulously constructed car. The car has been had a recent make over, now with less than 100 miles since this rebuild. The owner builds satellite antenna and the corresponding hardware and software for a living, so imagine the kind of detail he puts into his personal ride.


Exterior details: Subtle pin stripping down on a Chevy ‘Dove Blue’ makes for a delicate combination that is stunning. Simple details like a shaved hood with Frenched headlights make for a classy look. This is followed by a one piece windshield and shaved door handles with automatic door openers. All the chrome has been redone for a perfect “resto” appearance, including some interesting changes to the grill. And look close and you’ll see a classically louvered hood adds to the detail.


As to body fitment, this car is tighter and cleaner than it was off the assembly line. All body fabrication has been done to a show quality condition. When you shut the doors you can almost feel yourself back in the Chevy Showroom when the car was first sold—tight. (Look at those door jams and you’ll see that every time these doors have been shut it has done with the utmost care—no wear is visible anywhere including the trunk seal. Take the time to scrutinize every inch of this car and you’ll see absolutely no signs of wear!


Engine & drivetrain: A carefully rebuilt 350 c.i. Chevy engine is backed by a completely rebuilt 350 Turbo with a Camaro rear end. The entire chassis and suspension has just had $3000 worth of improvements made in it which include new bushings and all new rubber components. It rides straight, turns easily and is a dream to drive. Oh yeah, it scoots with the modern V-8 under the hood.


Interior details include: Dakota digital gauges all in perfect working order. Column shifter on a Chevy tilt wheel looks clean. The air conditioning unit is fitted so nicely it almost looks like a factory application, so along with the heater you can be comfortable in any climate you’re driving in. Upholstery is in perfect shape along with carpet treatment. Power front windows are a nice comfortable touch. A Sony sound system and cassette player ads to your driving comfort. Power steering and power brakes and Sony radio/cassette player.
